At Hyde Definition we have been asked to come up with camouflage for many different environments, ranging from high mountain snowlines to tropical rainforest and the dry bush of southern Africa. Our work has taken us to Central Europe, South-East Asia and North America.
Our Approach
In order to develop the ideal camouflage for a given requirement, we will first seek to truly understand the environment. We begin with studying the predominant surroundings through data collection on the ground and desk research.
We will work with you to understand what you are trying to achieve. Is the object to be camouflaged stationary or moving? What are the key environments in which they will be seeking concealment? At what distance(s) is concealment required? Is camouflage required for uniform and identity purposes or true concealment?
One Camo Fits All?
The 21st century has seen much made of the need for a given camouflage pattern or colour-way to work in as wide a range of environments as possible. The economic and operational reasons for this are obvious, however any such design will necessarily be a compromise. In seeking to meet your needs we can take a generalist or an optimized approach, as required.

Dom, a member of the International Camouflage Uniform Society, is a recognized authority on camouflage pattern design. As well as the commercially successful PenCott™ Multi-Environment Camouflage Pattern Family, Dom has designed over two thousand camouflage patterns for clothing and equipment, vehicles, aircraft, watercraft, buildings and installations.
